NBPNP · New Brunswick

New Brunswick PNP.

Two paths into the Maritimes.

New Brunswick nominates skilled workers and entrepreneurs through NBPNP streams and runs frequent draws. It also participates in the federal Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), an employer-driven route open to candidates with a qualifying job offer from a designated NB employer.

Nomination places for 2026. This authority does not publish round-level counts, so there is no progress figure to show.

New Brunswick publishes no draw or nomination counts. It publishes occupation and sector shut-outs, and those are what actually decide your case.

What to watch nextThree things matter before you spend anything. First, check your NOC against the exclusion lists - if it is on them, New Brunswick is closed to you today no matter how strong your profile is. Second, AIP endorsement applications now go into a pool that is selected monthly on provincial priority rather than first-come-first-served, and anything not selected expires after 365 days, so a fresh complete application is needed after that. Third, offers to candidates living outside Canada are limited to Government of New Brunswick recruitment drives in healthcare, education and construction trades. AIP endorsees cannot use a bridging open work permit, but ImmigrationNB can issue a letter of support for a closed work permit under LMIA exemption C18 while permanent residence is pending. The Private Career College Graduate Pilot has been extended in limited form to the end of 2027, and no new nominations will be issued after it closes.

Program status

There is no number to report: New Brunswick releases neither round dates nor invitation totals. What it does release is a long list of live restrictions, and they are unusually aggressive. Since May 4, 2026 every new invitation under the NB Skilled Worker - New Brunswick Experience pathway is confined to healthcare, education and construction trades, because the stream is running out of allocation. Since February 3, 2026 no expression of interest or invitation is being considered under the NB Skilled Worker or NB Express Entry streams for candidates working in accommodation and food services (NAICS 72), nor for a long list of retail, cashier, service-station, shelf-stocking, meat-cutting and food and fish processing occupations regardless of sector. The same date paused new employer designation applications, and Atlantic Immigration Program endorsements are refused outright for NAICS 72 positions and for shippers and receivers, retail and wholesale managers, retail supervisors, buyers, retail salespersons and fish and seafood plant workers.

NBPNP FAQ.

Does a NBPNP nomination guarantee permanent residence?
No. New Brunswick nominates you, but Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) makes the final permanent-residence decision after its own admissibility, medical and security checks.
How does the NBPNP connect to Express Entry?
If you're nominated through the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, an Express-Entry-aligned stream, you receive 600 additional CRS points, which effectively guarantees an invitation to apply in a following Express Entry round.
What is the NBPNP scoring system?
EOI. Expression-of-Interest streams via the INB portal, plus the employer-driven Atlantic Immigration Program.
Can CHK Immigration help if I'm not in Ontario?
Yes. We're a licensed RCIC practice based in Brampton and London, Ontario, and we assist clients applying to provincial programs across Canada, working remotely and by video.
