Saskatchewan SINP 2026Intake windows and eligible occupations

Saskatchewan rebuilt its nominee program more radically than any province in the country. Since March 2025 every SINP route runs through a Saskatchewan employer: the employer registers, obtains an Employer Position Assessment (EPA), and puts you forward — there is no points draw you can enter on your own, and the old Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand routes without job offers are gone, with in-flight applications returned. The entrepreneur and farm categories were closed outright.

Program status

Saskatchewan does not run EOI draws in 2026. Capped sectors open in timed intake windows that fill within minutes: January 13, March 2, May 4 and July 6-7 have all reached their position limits. In the September 14-15 window Accommodations and Food Services filled, and Trucking reached its 150-position limit on October 10; Retail stood at 137 of 175.

What to watch next

The capped-sector window planned for November 2, 2026 was cancelled, so September 14-15 was the last window of 2026. The Employer Position Assessment must be complete and ready before the window opens - submissions outside a sector window are made ineligible.

Saskatchewan in 2026: the picture.

What Saskatchewan offers in exchange is speed and clarity. Priority-sector applications (health, agriculture, tech and trades) are accepted year-round from overseas, capped sectors open only in timed intake windows, and published processing through the third quarter of 2026 was two weeks — among the fastest in Canada. The 2026 allocation is 5,261 nominations (4,761 at the start of the year), at least half reserved for priority sectors.

    For people already working in the province, including the mandatory route for long-haul truck drivers. Capped-sector workers must apply within the final six months of their permit.

    Saskatchewan Experience — Students

    Now effectively limited to graduates of Saskatchewan institutions living and working in the province — out-of-province PGWP holders are excluded.

What matters: where Saskatchewan selection actually turns

  1. 01

    Three-tier sector system

    Priority sectors get a minimum 50% of nominations; food service (15%), trucking (5%) and retail (5%) are hard-capped; spas, salons and pet-care occupations are banned entirely.

  2. 02

    Two-week processing

    Published Q3 2026 times (July to September): two weeks for every skilled-worker category, four weeks for EPAs, one week for second reviews.

  3. 03

    A new $500 fee

    Since April 1, 2026 skilled-worker applications cost $500 — this category was free before. A second review costs $250, refunded if you win it.

  4. 04

    750 graduate seats

    Within the priority-sector share, 750 nominations are reserved for Saskatchewan graduates working in priority occupations.

A SINP nomination adds 600 CRS points.

Through the Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, an enhanced nomination lifts your Comprehensive Ranking System score by 600, which in practice means an invitation in the next round that includes provincial nominees.

Can I enter a SINP draw without a job offer?
No. Since March 2025 there are no SINP routes without an approved Saskatchewan job offer. The former Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories no longer exist, and applications filed on that basis are returned. Anyone selling a "no job offer Saskatchewan" pathway is describing a program that was abolished.
How do the capped sectors work?
Accommodation and food service, trucking and retail share a maximum 25% of the 2026 allocation and a handful of timed intake windows (January 13, March 2, May 4, July 6-7 and September 14-15 so far in 2026; the January to July windows each reached their position limits within minutes, and in September Accommodations and Food Services filled, Trucking filled by October 10 and Retail did not). The window planned for November was cancelled. Workers in these sectors must also apply within the last six months of their work permit's validity — missing a window can mean missing status.
I graduated outside Saskatchewan but work here now. Do I qualify?
Probably not through the student route: 2026 rules restrict the Saskatchewan Experience student pathway to graduates of Saskatchewan institutions, and PGWP holders who studied elsewhere face blocked access. The Employment Offer route with an EPA-backed job offer remains the realistic path.
What does SINP cost and how fast is it?
The application fee is $500 (new since April 1, 2026). Processing published for Q3 2026 was two weeks for all skilled-worker categories — with the four-week EPA done first, a complete file can move from job offer to nomination in about six weeks.
Does a SINP nomination guarantee permanent residence?
No. Saskatchewan nominates you, but Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) makes the final permanent-residence decision after its own admissibility, medical and security checks.
How does the SINP connect to Express Entry?
If you're nominated through the Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, an Express-Entry-aligned stream, you receive 600 additional CRS points, which effectively guarantees an invitation to apply in a following Express Entry round.
