The NTNP helps N.W.T. employers recruit and retain workers when no Canadians are available. For 2026 the territory has a 197-nomination allocation and introduced an Expression-of-Interest system for its Employer-Driven Stream, with several draws planned through the year.

Employer-Driven: Skilled Worker
For TEER 0–3 roles with a valid N.W.T. job offer (new EOI selection in 2026).
Employer-Driven: Critical Impact Worker
For TEER 4–5 roles a Northern employer can’t fill locally.
Employer-Driven: Express Entry
Enhanced sub-stream for Express Entry candidates with an N.W.T. offer — +600 CRS.
Business Stream
For entrepreneurs starting or buying a business in the Northwest Territories.
Francophone Stream
For bilingual (French/English) candidates with a valid N.W.T. job offer (TEER 0–5, CLB 5).
