The Yukon Nominee Program inverts the usual model: the employer, not the worker, is the applicant. Yukon employers submit expressions of interest during two narrow windows — January 19–30 and July 6–17 in 2026 — and the territory scores the employers against its priorities, invites the highest-ranked, and holds them to hard application deadlines of March 4 and August 26. If you are a worker, your entire strategy is finding a Yukon employer willing to run this process; there is no pool to join on your own.
The scale is intimate: 282 nominations for 2026, up 67 from the federal-cut year of 2025 but still below the 430 of 2024. The Yukon Community Pilot — the stream that tied workers to six specific communities — sunsetted on June 30, 2025 and was not renewed, leaving the core Skilled Worker, Critical Impact Worker and Express Entry streams plus a small business route. Nomination also comes with a distinctive obligation: a tri-partite agreement signed by government, employer and nominee, with the federal PR application due within six months.

Yukon does run a ranked selection, but only twice a year and only through employers. Employers submit an Expression of Interest during one of two intake windows, EOIs are scored against the published 2026 priorities, and the highest-ranking submissions receive a Letter of Invitation to apply. IRCC allocated a maximum of 282 nominations for 2026 and Yukon states it expects significantly more applications than spaces. Priority in 2026 goes to regulated health care professionals, employers in rural Yukon, and candidates who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least a year, are Yukon University graduates, are Francophone or French-speaking, or held a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025. The three streams are Critical Impact Worker (TEER 4-5), Skilled Worker (TEER 0-3) and Yukon Express Entry.

Skilled Worker
TEER 0–3 occupations with a full-time Yukon job offer and 12 months of relevant experience.
Critical Impact Worker
The territory's distinctive TEER 4–5 stream — six months of experience and CLB 4 open the door for the service and hospitality workers Yukon actually runs on.
Express Entry
For candidates in the federal pool (FSW, CEC, FST) with Yukon employer backing — adds the 600-point nomination.
Business Nominee
A small entrepreneur route; note the banned-business list, from sub-10-room B&Bs to taxi companies and home-based businesses.
Yukon Community Pilot
Closed. Ended on schedule June 30, 2025 after nominating 42 people across six communities; its successor concept was wound down too.

The employer applies, not you
Workers cannot enter the YNP pool. The employer files the EOI, documents failed Canadian recruitment, and signs the tri-partite agreement alongside you.
Two windows, four weeks total
Miss January 19–30 and July 6–17 and 2026 is over — there is no rolling intake.
Free at the territorial stage
Yukon publishes no nomination application fee — rare in Canada. Federal PR fees (about $1,590 for a principal applicant) still apply.
