PEI PNP · Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island PEI PNP.

The only province with a published 12-month draw calendar.

Prince Edward Island runs the most predictable nominee program in Canada. It is the only province that publishes its draw calendar a year in advance — twelve monthly draws scheduled from January 15 to December 17, 2026 — and it has actually kept the schedule, with draws rising from 26 invitations in January to 195 in July as the year's allocation opened up. On an island this size, a 195-person draw is a demographic event.

The program's quirks reward attention. EOI profiles expire after six months — half the lifespan of most provinces' pools — so passive candidates silently drop out. Draws consistently prioritize people already working in PEI in priority sectors and graduates of the island's three post-secondary institutions: UPEI, Holland College and Collège de l'Île. And the Atlantic Immigration Program runs here as a genuine independent alternative, employer-driven with no provincial fee and no draw to wait for.

Has not published a 2026 nomination allocation. IRCC allocated 43,999 spaces nationally; the seven jurisdictions that published theirs account for 37,255, leaving about 6,744 shared between Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador.

What to watch nextPEI is prioritising healthcare, trades, manufacturing and other shortage sectors, and states that people working in sales and service may not be invited at present. Graduates of UPEI, Holland College and College de l Ile are being prioritised. Four rounds remain on PEI’s published 2026 calendar: September 17, October 15, November 19 and December 17, though it warns the dates are indicative and it may draw earlier, later or off-schedule. The August 20 round issued 181 invitations, the second-largest of the year after July 16. PEI PNP FAQ.

When is the next PEI draw?
PEI publishes its full year of draw dates in advance — the only province that does. The 2026 schedule runs monthly from January 15 to December 17, every scheduled draw has been held so far, and 1,034 invitations had been issued through the August 20 round.
Why did my PEI EOI disappear from the pool?
PEI expressions of interest expire after six months, not the twelve most provinces allow. If you have not been invited within six months you must resubmit — silent expiry is the most common way otherwise-strong candidates fall out of contention.
Is the Atlantic Immigration Program better than the PEI PNP?
They serve different candidates. AIP needs a job offer from a designated PEI employer but carries no provincial fee, no points minimum and no draw wait; the PNP costs $300, needs 50+ points for Labour Impact, and runs on the monthly draw cycle. With a designated-employer offer in hand, AIP is usually faster; without one, the PNP pool is the route.
What does the PEI entrepreneur stream really cost?
The Work Permit Stream application fee is $10,000 against a $600,000 minimum verifiable net worth. The refund ladder matters: full refund if not accepted, $7,500 back if you withdraw before interview, nothing after the interview — up to $10,000 is at risk once you sit down.
Does a PEI PNP nomination guarantee permanent residence?
No. Prince Edward Island nominates you, but Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) makes the final permanent-residence decision after its own admissibility, medical and security checks.
How does the PEI PNP connect to Express Entry?
If you're nominated through the PEI Express Entry, an Express-Entry-aligned stream, you receive 600 additional CRS points, which effectively guarantees an invitation to apply in a following Express Entry round.
What is the PEI PNP scoring system?
EOI. Labour Impact candidates need at least 50 self-assessment points, but the deeper rule is cadence: EOI profiles expire after just six months, and draws run monthly on a published schedule.
